"Talking about their Big Butts" (inspired by "Pee Wee's Big Adventure")

This is my portrait of two friends sharing their hopes and dreams while sitting in the mouth of a concrete T-Rex. Pee Wee Herman and Simone the waitress inspire each other to overcome their "big butts" and reach for the stars as they watch the sun rise from the ridiculously spacious dinosaur's maw. The real T-Rex, a roadside attraction in Cabazon, CA where the exteriors were filmed, is not nearly this roomy!

The frame for the original painting was sculpted from wood and epoxy putty then covered with a gesso/sand mixture to replicate the hand formed texture of the concrete dinosaurs.
