"Show Me The Way To Go Home" Original Painting (Happy 50th Anniversary to "JAWS")
This is my original oil painting created as a birthday card of sorts for the 50th anniversary of Steven Spielberg's immortal classic, "JAWS". I had been wanting to pay tribute to this favorite movie of mine on this very special birthday. The movie is chock full of memorable moments making the choice difficult. Then I happened upon this old barn wood frame that reminded me of Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard homes back in my native Massachusetts. The aspect ratio suggested the scene to be painted; night time on the Orca and the story of the Indianapolis.
I changed the tone of the scene to one of joyous celebration having our three leads sitting down with their nemesis Bruce to eat birthday cake, drink Quint's hooch, and share a laugh!
