"RAAAAYYYY!!" Limited Edition Canvas Print in Resin Frame (inpsired by "Ghostbusters")
This is a Special Limited Edition Canvas Print edition of my "Ghostbusters" inspired painting "RAAAAYYYY!!" It is based on the moment from the film when Dr. Peter Venkman has his first slimy encounter with the free roaming vapor known as "Slimer" in the hotel hallway. My idea was to paint my version of Bill Murray's close up reaction to Slimer flying straight at him as seen in the film, but having the point of view be from inside Slimer's mouth. This would give me the opportunity to create a very special 3D integrated frame.
To create the frame, I went back to my special makeup effects days and made a clay sculpture. I them made a rubber mold of the sculpture out of which I could cast a light weight epoxy resin frame. The frame was hand painted and "slimed" with clear 5 minute epoxy.
The original oil painting and the prototype integrated frame was sold to a private collector. This limited edition print version features a canvas print of the original painting mounted on board and placed within a hand painted resin frame pulled from the original mold. It too is "slimed" with clear 5 minute epoxy.
These are hand made items. As such I will not be carrying an inventory. I will only have one of these up on the store at any given time. If you are looking to purchase and the item is "sold out", drop me an email and I will expedite the creation of the next one!
